It is 1765 and the Stamp Act has just been enacted by the British Parliament and King George III. How do you respond to this news?

  1. James Jones-Patriot-I am so angry! How dare parliament think that we should pay taxes to the crown. We do not have any representation in Parliament, so how can Parliament tax us! I am not going to pay this tax!

  2. Sally Sutter-Tory-The King and our mother country has been good to us! This tax is small compared to all the money they spent on the French and Indian War. I don't like taxes...but we all have to do our part.

  3. Lori Lewis-Redcoat- Once again these colonists are causing problems and we have to go over and keep the peace. They are threatening to hang the tax collectors. I have seen several effigies of tax collectors in Charlestown, SC. We are having to be watchful to make sure they are not harmed.
